Baoji is the city of the Precious Chicken and is where we have spent the majority of our time.

Below is huge statue of "The Precious Chicken" himself.

Maggie energetically displays the welcome package that we received from Chase and Marissa...

Made complete with fake orange juice (written on the bottle is a bunch of Chinese writing and also "30%") and packaged chicken feet!

After two weeks of travel it's time for laundry...

However it's all in Chinese so Nick attempts to decipher "hot" and "cold" by staring at this picture that he took with his phone in the bathroom...

It doesn't take us long to settle in. The Teaching Team in Baoji is really great. We have heard from the mouths of the Chinese how much this group really loves each other well and how much they are loving the ones around them and pouring into their lives.

We are invited to an "English Salon" or kind of talent show one night on the university campus. John plays the guitar while Ed and Maggs and I sing Amazing Grace, which seems to be a popular song to these students.

David, born and raised in Scotland, does a Scottish dance with his new English bride Hannah.

We also had the privelege of visiting some of Chase's English classes to see him in action...

And we're even invited to introduce ourselves to the class for an essay topic...

Daisy is one of the girls who was in class and has become great friends with the team. She has joined the family, so to speak, and is almost always beaming with light!

In fact, there are many who have joined the family! Below are our friends Julia and Angela. They are actually coming to Oklahoma to go to school for a semester at UCO, in the fall. We are hoping to bring them to our home in Enid for a weekend in late August or Sept.

One day Nick gets to play soccer with David at the university stadium! Here, Nick eagerly awaits his chance for glory.

And his beautiful wife joins the other ten fans and cheers him on from the stands.

Her cheering inspires her husband to do something great! The American and the Scotsman set up a scoring position against the Chinese!

The American leads the Scotsman in a beautiful pass and THE SCOTSMAN SCORES A LOOOOONG GOAL!!! .....but alas Maggie is too excited and impressed to take a picture of the goal. The moment lives forever in our minds. Unfortunately this ends up being the only goal we score and we lose 3-1. Nonetheless Nick is happy to have the opportunity to play what he considers the "real football".
